ATS STEEL DECK

ATS STEEL DECK

ATS300 is a cold formed section manufactured from Australian steel.

It is an efficient and durable permanent metal formwork product, which is available in 0.60, 0.75, 0.90 or 1.00 mm Base Metal Thickness (BMT).

The coating class Z350 (350g/m2 of zinc) provides good resistance against corrosion.

Propping

Temporary propping shall be provided according to ATS STEEL DECK formwork span table or instructions from a qualified structural engineer to avoid excessive deflection and prevent failure of formwork.

A minimum bearing width of 50mm for edge supports and 100mm for intermediate supports and temporary props must be provided unless approved by a qualified structural engineer.

All propping must be continuous across the width of ATS STEEL DECK formwork. The design, documentation, erection and removal of propping must comply with AS3610.

Sheet Placement

The edge ribs of ATS STEEL DECK sheets are designed to be interlocked. It is recommended to position a new sheet at an angle to a laid sheet, then slowly rotating it till the ribs are locked in place.

Fastening

The sheets shall be fixed to provide resistance against uplift forces and lateral movement.

Appropriate fixing methods may be chosen from: welds, nails or screws. Headed studs welded through sheets to structural steel in composite beam design are also considered to have adequate resistance against uplift.

However, some temporary fixing shall be provided to hold down the deck prior to stud welding. Fixing of the sheets should be provided adjacent to every rib over each support.

Edge Form

Edge forms are lipless C-sections rolled from light-gauge steel.

It can be easily trimmed, bent, spliced and fastened to achieve the ideal edge finish. The bottom flange of the C-section can be fastened to structural steel or the underside of ATS STEEL DECK sheeting. The top flange shall be braced using steel straps at maximum of 600mm centres.

ATS Steel Deck Formwork Span Table

  • Concrete Density = 2550 kg/m3
  • Deflection Limit = 1/240
  • Construction Load during stage I and Stage II = 1.0 kPa
  • The ratio of longer to shorter span length must not exceed 1.2
  • Allowance for ponding has been made
  • Concentrated vertical live load is not considered
  • The spans shown in these tables are the maximum allowable formwork spans between permanent supports. Composite slab designs are not included in this table
  • This span table shall be used in conjunction with engineering design
